Day 65. The 'I have nothing to wear' day

This is my greatest fear!!!

It simply cannot happen and um why would it. And how could it.

It is sadness that we have reached Day 65 which makes me think why stop here? Why?
Seriously why?

Stay tuned!

jjdp will be back!!

peace.

Day 64. Mixmash not gash

Mixing and mashing (not matching cos it won't) has never been soo easy.
Just get the most crazy patterns together and wear them like you mean it.

No-one will question you cos you seem too trendy - and by hell you are.
Here jjdp is rocking a few trends. Skinny jeans, crazy patterned jumper, plaid farmer sheepskin coat and the thigh high boots.
And a beanie.

Use your fashion wisely people.

Day 63. Sandals

I was at a Bloc party concert one time and someone threw a sandal on stage. A men's sandal.
The drummer proceeded to chastise the poor offender by saying that men's feet should not be shown in public. Up until recently I would have agreed but that was before I discovered these babies. (well I lie, I'm a huge fan of showing off your feet - provided they aren't hideously dirty or calloused - get a pedicure dammit) - but it did make for a good intro though right.

Anywho - I try and wear sandals with anything - they can add that edge to everything - think tux with a pair of these babies - you would rock that joint, I'm telling you!

Try and steer away from the normal - as the above. One toe - very cool and not that many people have them!

I got mine in Africa but there are stores locally selling them - and they have recently shown up in the Spring/Summer collections 10.
so get in now while sales are on for next season!!

Day 62. Signature Sox

Ever been in a meeting and caught a quick glimpse of someone's sox?
I have, many a time and I've never been more impressed than by someone who has managed to co-ordinate their wardrobe down to the sock. And I'm not talking about the cartoon or those eeeky monday - sunday versions.

The rule is generally that your sox should match your trousers but throw that out of the window and go bold and bright.
Match it to your t-shirt or hat or whatever!

Once again Uniqlo comes out tops here - I might actually have one of every colour they make including ice-white, electric blue and
midnight orange.

Day 61. Wide linen pants

These are a particular favourite with hippies and the like and I was fortunate enough to get mine from Thailand.

They are easy to wear and I just lounge around in them at home. They also make for great pj's or just for hanging around the pool.
And if you stand in the wind and make some very creative capoeira moves you will look amazing.

Day 60. BootCamp

Boots are gonna be huge for Fall Winter '09.

Boys go for the higher ones think above your ankle and just below your knee.
Get as many as you can I'd say. You will be set apart from the rest.

Wear with skinny jeans and also get some long socks and wear them peeking out just above the boot.

peace.

Day 59. Skinny & Green

And I'm not talking about a Caterpillar.

I've been a huge fan of coloured jeans since day 1 ( seriously - check it) and the latest addition to my wardrobe is this
marvelous green pair. I have to say I love the Uniqlo range of skinnier that skinny jeans and wow do they make your ass look great.
Just make sure you can breathe when you sit down.

I love it! Also the trip to putting these babies on is to roll the legs up and then put them on gently - or in my case
just keep jumping till they come over your thighs. Eep!

Get on it.

Day 58. Forrest Fashion

Right Fall is here and its time to start the layering and accessorising.

Which generally means hats - i.e the trilby.

Here folks I'm sporting a vintage number in sued with quail feather detail.
It is accompanied with fingerless gloves and a dark chocolate sheepskin coat.

Hmm I'm all tingly already thinking of all of the loverly winter couture to follow.

Day 57. Red Rocket, Red Rocket

REd, Red red.

Get some. Nothing brightens up an outfit quite like this vibrant shade.
This little number is in a the brightest hue and its all mohair.
It just kinda makes you want to get naked and roll around on it.

Wear with your scarlet harlot jeans for a total recall and to stop traffic. Cos you know you will!

Day 56. Just for fun

Situation clothing.

Sometimes you just wanna have some fun.
There's only a very limited arena where one can wear a velour evening gown and slather yourself in glitter - and I'm not talking
about your best friends wedding here.

But when at a festival anything goes and thus I always take along with em a clean pair of pimsoles.
This time I took a vibrant pair of canary yellow ones. (Incase I get lost)
Anywho - get yourself a sharpie and start decorating.

Here I've gotten one of my friends the lovely Sophie to do one and I did the other - and what fun they were.
And if they get absolutely battered you will have no qualms chucking them. (and if you decide to keep them they make for a nice keepsake)

Yayness.

Day 55. Shag me

Masses Attack!

I say if something works for you try it in loads. It's more impactful.
Black goes with everything and make a proper statement (without the jungling of bangles)
I've always had a armful of these babies and they are pretty cheap too.
And it makes such a good conversation starter.

If you are lucky you might even get one - that might get broken *wink*

Day 54. Taking Risks

I took one.
A really big one.

I wore a weave and went out into the real world.
No-one knew. It was very liberating.

And I think I will be haning onto this baby for some emo/grunge/native fun!

Day 53. Grungier than grunge

Yes folks - the 90's are back!
Well the good bits from it.

Get your rock gear and start the headbanging all. In between leather sessions and singing about OD'ing get yourself
together a look that screams of Kurt Cobain and the like.

Here JJDP is rocking - basic blue overalls (gonna be big yall), white t, black hoodie and enough teenage angst to make you cry!
also not the patent leather embellished high-tops and the allure it gives.

Rock on dudes.

Day 52. Hippie Hair

I have recently acquired a new look. Can you guess what it is.
Ding ding!

So instead of just rocking the nu-do as per norm, why not get one of your favourite scarves and do a side-tie in order to spice things up.
It's indie, its rock band and it's good to keep those fly-away hairs in check too.

Now all you have to do is run around a field of daisies and you will be in nirvana!

peace.

Day 51. I am - a designer

There is something to be said for making something your own.

Nothing bores me more than people who just wear things the way they bought them in the store.
Urrrrgh! boring!

For my creation above, I literally took a white t shirt, a page from a children's colouring book and a sharpie.
I traced the lovely kangaroo and hey presto chango - I have one of the most unique t-shirts around.
The amount of great feedback and omg where did you buy that comments are too many to mention.

Stop being a sheep people - trailblaze and become the kanga you know you want to.

Day 50. Thaaat White Shirt

Hmm!

As with the plain white t, you can never own enough white shirts!

Once again spend some extra cash and get them in nuanced styles - a different collar, stripes, fabrics etc.
Personalise!

And did I mention that special magic power they possess when they 'accidentally' get wet?

Have fun!

Day 49. Pants! (under)

I've always had a song in my head when ever I'm getting dressed and I think that if I possibly sell it as a jingle I could make millions.
It goes ' underwear, you can wear it anywhere' ( well possibly not a nudist beach but what'evs)

Anyway - underwear is crucial - no commando here. Therefore it is always wise to pay a little extra for these bad boys.
I am a bit of a stickler for tradition here - I like em 100% cotton and amazingly enough from the Gap. Flashy underpants are a bit unnecessary and with sooo many knock-off's floating around the street markets - people are more likely to think that you got it for cheap
than invest. (that's not to say some calvin's or boss would go unappreciated.)

They have an excellent range and in great colours too. I primarily go for neutrals like black, white, grey and then I like to spice it up
with bold colour stripes. It makes for a good peekaboo - if your undies sorta match what colour you are wearing.

They also make for perfect lounging around attire for when you are having those I just want to roam around your bed/hotel room days.

peace.

Day 48. Cut-off point

We have all been there.

Our favourite pair of jeans, ripped, torn, stained and well a bit scraggly at the bottom from too many nights out and well too many bouts of puddle jumping.

Alas the solution has arrived and what has frankly been a summer hit - for everyone.
The Cut-Off. hmmm. But before you run off and take a scissors to you beloved make sure that you really want to.
As once you made the first snip there is not going back.

Go for a cut just below you knee - it's easier to judge from here. Better going a bit longer than too short. Then evaluate.
Leave room for a roll up and know that you can do as many as you want!

Now all you have to do is fray the edges for that authentic antiquey look and you are set with a summer staple that can be worn with t-shirts, shirts, blazers - just about anything!

Have fun - and remember no running with the scissors!

peace.

Day 47. Layered - Like an onion

Layering
Nothing beats a bit of fresh Air - and where better to get it than in the country.

Also rife breeding ground rife with not only sheep, awesome fantasies and adventure. But also a good example of how good layering works inbetween work and having fun!
Above is an outfit that would rock in both town and country.
Its all in layering

Take one pair of standard skinny jeans, logo t-shirt, plaid shirt, hip tie jumper, and a warm coat. Add to that some fingerless gloves and an awesome Indiana Jones hat and you are ready to roll. (possibly in the hay, but hey - that's what your are there for)

Live it up and remember the cool thing about layering is that you can always take something off!

Day 46. Candy coloured HighTop

What can I say. I like my footwear.
Last count I'd say I had about 50 pairs that I was aware of. And that's just with me here in London. Hmmm.
But everyone has an occasion.

So where does a pair of canary yellow patent leather high tops fit in. Perfectly. Perfectly.
It needs no explanation - put them on your feet and you are guaranteed instant attention - because everyone will be insanely jealous of your kicks.

Worn with plain blue jeans or if you want to shock everyone around you - go with a multicoloured outfit in all of the colours in rainbow.
The choice is yours - and you love it.

peace.

Day 45. Denim Jacket

You will be glad you got one.

With the nights getting a bit nippier, you need a casual jacket that you can throw on with anything. Possibly you do not want to go to formal and that's where this beauty steps in. It's a perennial crowd pleaser and with the return denim in a big way for Autumn/Winter you are assured casual coolness.

Dark rinses work well and you can offset with any blue jean - or you could go with stonewash but this dates a bit easier.
Pair with a classic rugby polo as in the shot and its perfecto for a Saturday in the park, or having lunch with the family.

Peace.

Day 44. RetroRed

Wayfarer Glasses.

These babies have come standard with any trendy around since about 3 years ago. But then it was all in classic black.
Change it up and get some with a strong colour as the top frame and make it work!

Turn your ordinary accessory into a statement piece.
